I am deeply committed to the natural world. For many years I have organized and directed ecological studies in Italy and Ecuador, Study Abroad For the Earth (SAFE), as well as directing International Conferences on Spirituality and Sustainability.

I was also instrumental in obtaining for St. Thomas University the Renew America 1992 National Environmental Achievement Award from the Rodale Foundation.
