Dr. Ferrero has been interested and involved with the Earth Charter for a long time. In 1998 the Earth Charter Drafting Committee asked Elisabeth to translate the Charter into Italian and the Earth Council asked her to start the Earth Charter Consultation process in Italy.

More recently, Dr. Ferrero co-authored with Dr. Joe Holland, The Earth Charter: A Reflection For Action. This is the only comprehensive commentary at the present time on the Earth Charter. The manuscript can be downloaded in web-form at www.Ecreflection4action.org.

In March 2003, The Earth Charter: A Reflection for Action was published in Italian by Diabasis with the title, Carta della Terra: Reflessione per L'azione.
